Rank Transitions

Beginners – White Patch

BeginnerThis is the start of your journey as a martial artist.  You are encouraged to attend each of the days for the duration of this rank to start to form your own martial arts Identity.  

  Intermediates – Blue Patch

Beginner to Intermediate During this transition you will be tested on responding to pressure, resourceful action and reaction, and technique memory in a controlled but “stressful” situation.

Advanced – Red Patch

Intermediate to AdvancedDuring this transition you will spar with the lead instructor, testing his/her skill, ability, technique, resourcefulness, speed, action, and reaction in a controlled street fight scenario, proving to himself/herself and the lead instructor that you can defend yourself against an average street fighter.

Expert – Black Belt

Advanced to BLACK BELT –  During the transition to black belt, you will again spar with lead instructor testing your skills, ability, technique, resourcefulness, speed, action, and reaction in a controlled street fight scenario, proving to yourself and the lead instructor that you can defend yourself against other high ranking martial artists from other schools.


•Testing is performed at the discretion of the lead instructor.
•All transition testing will be one on one with the lead instructor in a sparring pace.
•Street fight rules and scenarios will be incorporated.  
•The lead instructor has well over a decade of sparring experience, and will apply the proper amount of pressure without risk of injury.
•The lead instructor will also be in full protective gear so that you, the student may thoroughly display all techniques learned.
